Welcome to
Las Vegas
Welcome to our Vegas guide - a collection of our favourite spots, eats, and things to do while you’re in town.
Whether you’re here for a day or the whole week, these are the places we genuinely love. No tourist traps, just good vibes, great food, and a little sparkle.
Our favourite Vegas tips!
◆ Park MGM is the only smoke-free casino on the Strip, which makes a big difference if you’re not into the smoky vibe.
◆ The Taco Bell Cantina next to Planet Hollywood serves alcohol. Yes, you can get a frozen Baja Blast with tequila.
◆ There’s a 24-hour bakery at the Paris Hotel — ideal for late-night cravings or an emergency pastry.
◆ For classic coin-operated slot machines (and actual “ka-ching” sounds), go to Slots A Fun at Circus Circus. It’s wonderfully old school.
◆ Avoid hotel gift shops — they often don’t show prices so they can overcharge you. For snacks, sunscreen, and essentials, go to CVS, Walgreens, or ABC Stores.
◆ Everything takes longer than you think. Even “quick” things like grabbing a snack before a show — add at least 20 minutes. Vegas time runs differently.
◆ You can legally drink on the street as long as it’s in a plastic cup or can — just no glass containers.
◆ The Strip looks walkable, but it’s not. Everything is massive and the heat makes it worse. Use Uber/Lyft, the Monorail, or give yourself time.
◆ The Arts District is worth checking out — cool bars, vintage shops, murals, and a totally different vibe than the Strip.
◆ Want a cocktail with a view? Head to SkyBar at the Waldorf Astoria. It’s swanky but low-key and doesn’t require a cover charge.
◆ One for the Nottingham crowd, there’s a bar in The Excalibur Hotel and Casino called ‘The Sherwood Forest’
◆ If you’re going to gamble, set a limit and expect to lose it. Think of it as entertainment, not income.
◆ The Bellagio fountains are cheesy in the best way — worth seeing at least once, especially at night.
◆ Wear comfy shoes. Even when you’re not trying to walk far, you will. Vegas is sneaky like that.
◆ There’s air-con everywhere, so bring a layer — especially in casinos and restaurants, it gets weirdly cold.
…definitely don’t fall for these tourist scams!
◆ Don’t buy weed from random people on the street — it’s illegal unless it’s from a licensed dispensary, and 99% of the time it’s fake.
◆ Hotel gift shops are often a rip-off. No prices = they can charge whatever they want. Go to CVS, Walgreens, or ABC instead.
◆ Be wary of street hustlers like fake showgirls, “monks” handing out bracelets, or people offering photos — they’ll demand tips after. Just smile and keep walking.
◆ Avoid “free” timeshare presentations — they’ll promise show tickets or gifts, but you’ll lose half your day to a hard sell. Not worth it.
EAT
Casual Bites:
What-a-Burger
One of our favourite stops from our Texas road trip - this location is one of the few outside of Texas.
In-N-Out
A California classic and one of the best (and cheapest) eats on the Strip.
Hattie B’s
Another favourite but this time from Nashville, famous for Nashville hot chicken — seriously spicy and seriously good.
Raising Cane’s
Post Malone’s favourite chicken tenders, and honestly, ours too.
Classic Diners:
Denny’s
An American institution - Denny’s literally has everything for everyone. Will be hungover here the day after the wedding!
iHOP
International House of Pancakes is where we had our first meal together as an engaged couple.
Peppermill Lounge
An iconic landmark and retro Vegas classic - neon-lit, cozy, and great for late-night drinks or brunch.
Fancy Spots:
Bacchanal Buffet
The famous buffet at Caesars Palace - we haven’t tried this but comes very highly recommended from our favourite Vegas YouTuber!
The Golden Steer Steakhouse
This was Elvis’ favourite restaurant during his time in Vegas and a local favourite. Good luck getting a table.
Buffet at the Wynn
Considered the most famous and indulgent buffet in Vegas, it’s well worth a shout if you’re hungry.
Mon Ami Gabi
Stunning French restaurant at the foot of the Eiffel Tower right on the strip. Cute spot for breakfast.
DRINK
Dive Bars:
Stage Door
The cheapest drinks on The Strip with beers starting from $1 and hot dogs for $2. Vibes on a budget.
Frankie’s Tiki Room
The coolest tiki bar in Vegas… with the strongest drinks! A bit out of the way but worth the trek.
Hard Hat Lounge
Longstanding Vegas staple for cheap drinks. Happy hour 2-5(AM and PM).
Fancy Bars:
Bar Parasol
Fancy outdoor bar at The Wynn overlooking the ‘Lake of Dreams’. Worth going even if just for a cuppa.

The crystal encrusted centrepiece of the Cosmopolitan Hotel, spanning over three floors of lounge vibes.

Gorgeous spot for cocktails in Caesars Palace, created by reality TV icon Lisa Vanderpump.
Rooftop Bars:
Skyfall
Enjoy drinks with a view of the entire Las Vegas Strip from the 64th floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel.
Beer Park
Technically not a rooftop bar but a nice chilled out spot for casual drinks with views over the famous Bellagio fountains. Under the Eiffel Tower.
Legacy Club
Rooftop bar in Downtown Las Vegas on the famous Fremont Street based on the roof of the Circa Hotel. Don’t miss the 500 solid gold bricks inside.

‘Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas’ Sign
Grab a picture in front of one of the world’s most iconic signs. Be prepared to get cabs there and back and there’s usually a bit of a queue.
Fremont Street Experience
Fremont Street is old-school Vegas: neon lights, live music, wild crowds, zip lines, and a totally different vibe from the Strip.
Day Trips:
Grand Canyon
A long drive but unforgettable scenes. The drive to Grand Canyon West takes between 4-5 hours. A bucket list trip, if you have time.
Vegas Essentials:
The Big Apple Coaster
Fly around the New York New York skyline on the iconic Vegas rollercoaster. We are planning group coaster fun on Tuesday 21st.
Las Vegas Shows
We’ve heard good things about ALL the shows in Vegas so if you have time, book one that tickles your fancy. We loved RuPaul’s Drag Race Live… obviously.
SlotZilla Zip Line
Fly down the original Vegas strip, 11 storeys high at 35mph. We will be doing a group ZipLine the night before the wedding if you want to join in!
